LOS ANGELES, Feb. 22 (UPI) — Destiny’s Child reunited to celebrate Kelly Rowland‘s 35th birthday Saturday in Los Angeles.
The singer invited fellow Destiny’s Child members Beyonce and Michelle Williams to ring in the occasion at her Sunset Tower Hotel party.
Rowland shared several photos, including a photo booth snap with Beyonce and Williams, on Instagram, writing, “#HAPPYBDAYTOME” and “#HAPPYBIRTHDAYINDEED.” The singer’s actual birthday was Feb. 11.
Beyonce’s mom, Tina Knowles, who managed Destiny’s Child and part of Rowland’s solo career, and her husband, rapper Jay Z, were also present at the celebration. Rowland, Beyonce and Jay Z attended The-Dream’s concert together the day previous.
Rowland and Beyonce started performing as Destiny’s Child in the mid-1990s, with Williams joining the group in 2000. The trio released their third album together, Destiny Fulfilled, in 2004, and last performed at the Stellar Gospel Music Awards in March.
“When three good girlfriends are together, you’re free and you don’t care who’s around,” Williams told Billboard after the trio performed at Super Bowl XVLII in 2013. “You’re just trying to catch up and be goofy. I had a blast.”
Rowland, Beyonce and Williams each pursued solo careers after Destiny’s Child disbanded in 2006. Rowland, who last released Talk a Good Game in 2013, shot down rumors of an official reunion while speaking with Us Weekly in October.
“It hasn’t been something that we’ve talked about at all,” the singer said. “We’ve just been enjoying each other, whether it’s been about our music, whether it’s been about motherhood or our personal lives. That’s what it’s really been about. That’s been the most beautiful part.”
