SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 13, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Hogle Zoo has announced a new resident.

He’s tall, spotted and handsome, and he’s from the Blank Park Zoo, in Des Moines, Iowa.

“Spotted: a new arrival at Utah’s Hogle Zoo,” says the Hogle Zoo’s announcement. “Say hello to Bakari, our newest resident male giraffe!”

Bakari, age 2, is described as “a curious, brave, and confident young giraffe who enjoys munching on branches and exploring new things.

“You may be able to see Bakari in the habitat behind the train station as he completes his standard quarantine with the rest of the giraffe herd.”

The Zoo says that, as temperatures cool, the giraffes are likely to stay in their indoor habitat.

“To see our resident herd up-close this winter, check out the Giraffe Barn Tour, available to book now at https://www.hoglezoo.org/tours/.”
