NEW YORK, April 15 (UPI) — Meghan Trainor is confused about why men have stopped pursuing her since she became a pop star, saying she expected men to “line up” after the fact.

The 22-year-old “No” singer told Seventeen magazine in an interview for its latest issue she’s never felt more confident about her body, saying “A couple of years ago, you’d never see me in a dress. And now I want to sha-zoom me. I mean, I want it tight.”

“I want to show off what I got. I never was that girl,” she said.

Now a Grammy-winner, Trainor told the outlet she “got attention” from men when she wasn’t famous. “Guys flirted with me all the time. And then I got famous, and guys won’t look at me. And if they do, they’re terrified. There was a part where I was like, ‘Yo, am I hideous? How am I not getting hit on? I’m super cool. I’m super pretty. I’ve never dressed better. I should be getting guys lined up!”

Last month, the star said she nearly entered a “crisis” when she found out she needed vocal cord surgery.

“I lost everything, I lost my voice, I had to give up my cats because my doctor said I could not have them in the house; and I said to myself: when am I going to wake up from this nightmare?” she said at the time.

The singer, later went on to win a Grammy award for Best New Artist, added she was “stunned” to come out on top after such a difficult year.
