FRUITLAND, Utah, Dec. 17, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 2.3 magnitude earthquake hit near Fruitland Monday morning.
The earthquake struck 11 miles northwest of the unincorporated community in western Duchesne County at 8:02 a.m., according to information from the University of Utah.
Earthquakes are classified in categories ranging from minor to great, depending on their magnitude; earthquakes of magnitude 2 to 3.9 are classed as minor.
Fruitland is approximately 24 miles west of Duchesne.
