LEHI, Utah, Dec. 19, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The four right lanes of Interstate 15 northbound in Lehi have reopened Wednesday morning after a truck spilled coal on the freeway.

“Troopers in the field down in Utah County are reporting a coal spill on I-15 northbound at Pioneer Crossing in Lehi,” a tweet from Utah Highway Patrol at 9:30 a.m. said.

The right four lanes were closed while Utah Department of Transportation crews with front-end loaders clean the spill, the tweet said. As of 11 a.m. the spill has been cleared and traffic is flowing normally.

Officials did not say what caused the truck to spill the coal.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
