SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, July 2, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — A 9-year-old boy has been found safe after being missing overnight in a national forest in Summit County.

The Idaho boy, named Stratton, was found about 15 hours after he was first reported missing by a family member. The child became separated from his group in the Henry’s Fork area of Summit County.

First responders went to the area, within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.

“Crews searched throughout the night, both on ground and in the air. Additional search resources (ground searchers, searchers on horseback, dog search teams, and aircraft) are in the area this morning continuing the search,” the SCSO statement says.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office announced the boy was safe at 10:54 a.m. Thursday.

“Stratton has been found safe,” the tweet says. “He has been reunited with his father. Additional details will be made available as we learn them.”
