PARK CITY, Utah, Sept. 7, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — A 9-year-old girl wearing pajamas and carrying a teddy bear was found on Interstate 80 near Park City on Sunday evening.
The girl’s parents called in to dispatch to report a missing child in the Pinebrook Road area, according to a shift report from Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
“The child’s parents noticed the child was gone from the home and checked home security cameras,” the shift report said. “The parents then realized the child walked out the front door of the home. Shortly after the call came in, another person called to report a child walking around the Newpark area in pajamas.”
Deputies, officers, and Utah Highway Patrol searched the Newpark area but were unable to find the girl.
“A period of time later another caller reported a child wearing pajamas and carrying a teddy bear walking down I-80 north of Kimball’s,” the report said. “The child was located by deputies in good condition at mile marker 143 of I-80 eastbound.”
The child’s parents then came and picked her up; she was unhurt.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
