SPRINGVILLE, Utah, April 14, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 9-year-old Springville boy died Wednesday night after being hit by an SUV while riding home from a Scout meeting.
Lt. David M. Caron, Springville Police Department, said the boy was riding along Dalton Drive (200 East) at 7 p.m. when he rode past a stop sign at the intersection of 2500 South and directly into the path of an SUV.
The boy was taken by helicopter to Primary Children’s Medical Center and placed on life support, but later died from his injuries.
Caron said the driver of the SUV was unable to avoid hitting the boy.
No drugs or alcohol are suspected and police do not anticipate filing any charges.
The boy’s identity has yet to be released.
