Amber Alert canceled after missing South Salt Lake child found safe; woman taken into custody

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, June 13, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A child who was the subject of an Amber Alert issued Friday was found safe, and a woman sought in connection with the juvenile’s disappearance was taken into custody, according to the South Salt Lake Police Department.

Police said the alert was issued Friday for a missing 9-year-old boy.

Shortly after the alert was activated, officers located the child safely and took an alleged suspect, Marie Marsh, into custody.

In a statement, South Salt Lake police thanked the Unified Police Department for assisting in the child’s recovery.

“We appreciate the collaboration with Unified Police Department in assisting in the recovery of Raymond safely and quickly,” the department said.

Police said the safety and welfare of children remains their highest priority and that the department dedicates immediate, comprehensive resources to every report of a missing child.

Additional details about the circumstances of the case were not immediately released.
