JUAB COUNTY, June 12, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — One person is dead after an early afternoon collision on northbound Interstate 15 in Juab County.

The multi-vehicle collision happened just before 2 p.m. Friday when an SUV failed to notice that traffic had slowed for construction, and ran into at least two other vehicles near milepost 209.

The blue SUV struck the back of a black sedan, and the sedan struck a black SUV, Trooper Sanchez, Utah Highway Patrol, told Gephardt Daily.

Only one person was seriously injured, and that driver was airlifted to a hospital, but later declared dead, Sanchez said.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending next-of-kin notice.

Northbound traffic remained closed for multiple hours during the on-scene investigation, but was reopened in the early evening.
