TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 16, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — An arrest warrant has been issued for the alleged killer of Jaspinder Singh, the out-of-state trucker found murdered in his big-rig in Tooele County on September 26.

Singh’s semi was parked near the Sinclair gas station by the Interstate 80 off-ramp in Delle. His body was found by a coworker who drove to the scene after noticing the GPS tracker in Singh’s truck showed it had stopped moving for a concerning amount of time.

Investigators responded and discovered Singh with slash wounds around his neck and lower extremities.

According to an arrest warrant, filed by the Tooele County Attorney’s Office, the alleged suspect in the trucker’s murder is Jaswinder Singh Dhillon. He is a 46-year-old Washington state resident whose car, a white Mercedes, was recorded following the truck at various locations where the murder victim had stopped, including the victim’s final stop.

Singh Dhillon is officially wanted for investigation of aggravated murder and aggravated kidnapping, both listed as first-degree felonies. A man named Jaswinder Singh Dhillon, listed as a fugitive, was booked into Washington’s Clark County Jail on Wednesday morning. No additional information on the booking was provided.

A dashcam video of a person believed to be Singh Dhillon shows him “appearing to approach the semi of the deceased,” court documents say. The semi is then seen entering I-80 eastbound, before returning about 4:29 a.m., “and parking in the location where investigators ultimately found the truck and deceased victim.”

The white Mercedes was “later observed on an LPR (license plate recognition system) in Reno, NV,” the same day, the court document says. “A plate inquiry on the light-colored Mercedes sedan returned information for its registered owner, Jaswinder Dhillon.”
