SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, September 5, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) – Investigators with the Utah Highway Patrol are trying to determine the cause of a fatal car-truck accident on I-15 late Wednesday night.
According to a statement released by the UHP, the accident happened about 10:30 p.m. when the driver of a Nissan Sentra slammed into the back of a semi-truck which had stopped in the northbound lanes of the highway near 14800 South.
Investigators say the Nissan rear-ended the semi at near freeway speeds fatally injuring the driver.
There were no other reports of injuries.
Troopers have yet to release the victim’s name pending notification of family members.
