HEBER CITY, Utah, Sept. 8, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies have been at the scene of shots fired in Heber City since about 7 p.m. Sunday and are searching for the suspect or suspects who shot out the back windows of a doctor’s office and broke into a state liquor store.
Heber Valley Hospital is on lockdown, and Heber City Police officers and Wasatch County Sheriff’s deputies have been going from building to building in the area, while employees of several businesses have been locking exterior doors and staying away from windows.
At least one person was taken into custody shortly after officers’ arrival and was transported to the police station to be interviewed.
Officials are asking the public to avoid 1200 South from Mill Road to Main Street.
Police believe there may be other suspects at large and they may be heavily armed.
