BREAKING: Police confirm teen shot, fatally wounded outside West Valley City Winco

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, July 15, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — West Valley City police have confirmed that a Saturday night shooting killed a teenager in the Winco parking lot.

“On Saturday, at about 11:30 p.m., a vehicle with a few people inside stopped in the north end of the parking lot at the Winco store on 5600 West,” says a statement released more than 35 hours after Gephardt Daily first took photos of the crime scene and asked West Valley Police officials for information on the shooting.

“According to those in the vehicle, another vehicle pulled up behind their car and started shooting.

“A 17-year-old male passenger in the back seat was struck by a bullet. The victim vehicle fled and sought help in a neighborhood just south of the Winco store. Neighbors called 911 and the victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he died.”
