CEDAR CITY, UTAH – August 17, 2105 (Gephardt Daily) – Cedar City police officers arrested three Las Vegas men Monday believed to be responsible for the shooting that occurred Thursday evening at the Cedar City Walmart.

Police said the suspects are Davion Fletcher, 18; Bryant Lewis, 21; and Ivan Favila, 18. They were booked on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, felony discharge of a firearm and theft of a firearm–all felonies.

Cedar City Police initially said the adult male and female victims stated that, as they were parked in the parking lot of the Walmart last Thursday at 6:20 p.m., a black male entered the back seat of their vehicle, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim quickly got out of the vehicle and began calling for help. The suspect left the victim’s vehicle and joined at least one other black male in running from the scene. The two suspects took off in a car.

The victims got back into their vehicle and, moments later, the suspects returned. As the vehicles passed one another in the parking lot, at least one shot was fired from the suspect vehicle. The bullet struck the victims’ vehicle but did not injure them. The suspects then left the area.

Initially, the victims told investigators they did not know the suspects. During the course of the investigation, however, it was found that they had previously arranged to meet at the Walmart.

The morning after the shooting, detectives began receiving information and tips from the public regarding the identity of possible suspects involved in the shooting at Walmart. Using information gathered from those leads, investigators were able to develop information on several possible suspects. This information was confirmed later by photo line-ups with the victims and witnesses. Detectives were unable to locate the suspects over the weekend and assumed they may have left town for the weekend.

On Monday at around 9 a.m., the suspects were found in their vehicle near 200 West Center Street. Police stopped the vehicle and took the suspects into custody. After interviewing the suspects, officers took them to the Iron County Jail.
