THISTLE, Utah, Aug. 18, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A crash between two semitrailers on U.S. 6 near Thistle led to a large fuel spill and closed traffic in both directions Sunday evening.
One of the semis was hauling fuel, which was leaking onto the highway, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The Utah Department of Transportation first posted about the crash about 4:40 p.m.
U.S. 6 was expected to be closed for approximately five hours while officials cleaned up and investigated the crash, according to UHP. Traffic was being diverted on on U.S. 89.
One person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
