SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 19, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews battled a two-alarm fire in an industrial area of Salt Lake City Wednesday morning.

Salt Lake City Fire Department Captain Anthony Burton told Gephardt Daily the fire at Textile Care Services at 2295 Custer Road broke out at approximately 6 a.m. on the roof of the building.

“The cause is under investigation but from what I understand they had some styrofoam on the roof; they were having the roof re-done, and some of the contents were on fire, on the roof itself,” Burton said.

No civilians or firefighters were injured as a result of the fire.

At this early stage there is no exact estimate on damages.

Burton said Salt Lake City Police Department assisted with road closures in the area; West Valley City Fire Department were called to the scene but were not needed.

Textile Care Services provides laundry and dry cleaning services.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
