ROCKVILLE, Utah, June 10, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews reached 100% containment Monday on the 72-acre Rockville Fire burning in southern Utah.

“This means that there is fuel break (minimal to no vegetation) completely around the fire area. This break may include natural barriers or manually and/or mechanically constructed line,” Utah Fire Info stated on social media.

The human-caused wildfire started Friday afternoon on private land within the Rockville city limits, state wildfire officials said.

“Firefighters will continue to monitor the fire,” the post says.

The wildfire initially threatened structures and led to evacuations in the area. State Route 9 also was temporarily closed Friday as crews began battling the fire.

All evacuation orders have been lifted, and SR-9 has reopened in both directions.
