PRICE, Utah, July 31, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A 31-year-old man was fatally shot Tuesday night in Price after a domestic violence call and the arrival of multiple law enforcement agencies.
Agencies included the Price City Police, Helper City Police and Carbon County Sheriff‘s Department. The Utah State Department of Investigation will be the lead agency on the Officer-Involved Critical Incident (OICI) case.
Law enforcement was dispatched to the scene, in Price, at 11:36 p.m., regarding a domestic violence incident, a statement from the Utah Department of Public Safety says.
“An officer-involved shooting occurred involving multiple officers,” the Utah DPS statement says. It “resulted in the death of a 31-year-old male involved party.
The investigation is in its early states, and “additional information will be provided as it becomes available,” the statement says.
“We understand the gravity of this situation and are committed to transparency and thoroughness throughout the investigative process. The safety and well-being of our community and our officers are our highest probity.”
The statement says “updates will be shared with the media and the public as more information is confirmed.”
