Draper PD officer involved in collision with 2 teens; all 3 hospitalized

DRAPER, Utah, April 21, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A Draper City Police officer who had activated his lights and siren in an attempt to apprehend a reckless driver Saturday morning collided with a vehicle occupied by two teenagers, according to a Draper PD news release.

The officer was driving east on 12300 South at 700 East when his patrol car collided with the northbound vehicle containing the teens.

“The officer and the two teenagers sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries; all were transported to local hospitals,” says the Draper Police statement. “The officer was released from the hospital this morning.

“Per protocol, the Sandy Police Department is investigating the incident. We do not have further details at this time, pending the conclusion of the investigation.

“We thank the citizens who stopped to aid those injured. We wish all involved a speedy and complete recovery.”
