COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah, Oct. 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police and Unified Fire Authority crews were at the scene of a serious single-vehicle crash at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon on Sunday evening.
The accident happened at about 6:30 p.m.
Cottonwood Heights Police Sgt. Dan Morzelewski told Gephardt Daily it appears the car was traveling at highway speeds when it left the road coming south out of the canyon.
The vehicle failed to make the turn and went off approximately 150 feet, crashing through brush and landing in the trees.
Morzelewski said the top of the vehicle had to be removed by UFA crews so the male driver, the only occupant, could be extricated.
He was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition, Morzelewski said.
The Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team has been called out and investigators were still on scene two hours later.
Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as more information is made available.
Morzelewski is a real tool. He needs to go back to the rec center. Way tooliteral of a police officer. Will look for and charge with the tiniest of offenses because it makes him feel like a big man. Too bad he has such penis envy.
