Evacuation orders lifted for residents near Tooele County’s Boulter Fire

TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 25, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Residents evacuated due to the Boulter Fire, in Tooele County’s southeast corner, are now allowed to return to their homes.

The fire sparked Saturday afternoon just north of the Juab County border, about halfway between Vernon and Eureka. T

The Boulter Fire spread rapidly due to strong, erratic winds.

“The evacuation order for residents along SR-36 between Vernon and Eureka has been lifted as of 1 p.m. this afternoon,” Utah Fire Info said in a Sunday post.

The Boulter Fire was mapped this morning at 2,300 acres. SR-36 is open in both directions. Roughly 100 fire personnel will work today to secure sections of the fireline. Containment remains at 0%.”

The fire was estimated to cover 3,000 yesterday. New mapping provided a more accurate number.
