LAYTON, Utah, Aug. 27, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The family of a 10-year-old boy mortally injured Saturday in a bicycle-truck collision is paying tribute to him on a GoFundMe page.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our loving little man, Dom Boudrero,” the page says. “He was hit by a truck on his bike Saturday afternoon and passed away a few hours later from an extremely damaged spleen and lacerated liver.”
Boudrero, from Layton, was riding his bicycle in Clearfield in the area of 1900 S. Chelemes Way. At approximately 4:45 p.m., he came to a four-way stop intersection.
Boudrero, traveling south, crossed in front of an eastbound truck that was entering the intersection, and the boy was struck, a statement from the Clearfield Police Department says.
“Medical personnel attended to the patient on scene and transported him by ground ambulance to Holy Cross Hospital (Davis),” the CPD statement says. “While at hospital the patient’s condition worsened, and the patient passed away due to injuries sustained in the accident.”
“The department sends its sincerest condolences to the family members, friends, those who witnessed the accident, and all those affected by this tragic accident.”
The GoFundMe page says the 10-year-old was a happy, active boy.
“Dom was loved by everyone who knew him. He loved any and all sports, fishing, camping and anything active. He was a light in our lives.”
The account says any donations offered will help with medical and memorial expenses, and funeral costs. As in all cases, Gephardt Daily cannot guarantee funds will be used as stated.
“This is going to be a long road for the family as they grieve the loss of Dom,” the family statement says. “We can’t believe he’s really gone from this mortality and can’t wait to see his loving spirit again.”
