FARMINGTON , Utah, Feb. 19 (UPI) — A Farmington woman was met with a surprise when she discovered a decapitated snake head in a can of green beans.
Troy Walker was cooking a meal for her church’s Young Women’s group, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on Wednesday night when she spotted the snake head in a can of Western Family green beans.
“It looked pretty much like a burnt bean. And then as I got closer to lift it off the spoon, I saw eyes,” she said. “That’s when I just dropped it and screamed.”
Walker threw out the rest of the beans and returned the snake head to her local grocery store before informing Western Family of the incident.
According to WTHR, Western Family halted production and conducted a trace-back effort to find the lot that received the green beans.
“At this point, the product is on hold at the wholesale level. As soon as we know something like this, we stop all shipments until we know what’s going on with the foreign material,” Western Family Chief Financial Officer Pete Craven said.
“Foreign matter is not something we take lightly. We want to know what it is, and we will immediately research and do any level of correction as we can.”
