TOOELE, UTAH – June 17, 2015 (Gephardt Daily)- Officials have confirmed the identity of a man who died after his friend may have been driving drowsy after a trip to Wendover.

According to investigators Andy C. Pham, 31, of West Valley City, died  after a 30-year-old male driver of the car rolled his white Acura after drifting off I-80 near Tooele. The driver told officers he over-corrected, causing the vehicle to roll.

UHP officers believe Pham may have been sleeping, partially lying down, when the accident occurred. Pham was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.

Pham and his friends were traveling from a party in Wendover in two groups. The majority of the group was in the other car and witnessed the accident.

The Utah Department of Transportation said the traffic was snarled for several hours as investigators and crews cleaned up the scene.
