PROVO, Utah, Aug. 17, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews rescued roughly a dozen tubers from the Provo River who were concerned about water conditions Saturday afternoon.

The North Fork Fire Department and other agencies in north Utah County responded to reports of 11-13 tubers stranded on an “island” in the Provo River.

“They were concerned about water conditions. Fire personnel waded in shin deep water to rescue them,” the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post.

“Evaluate conditions and consider if maybe you should go bowling or to a movie if severe weather is, or has been, in the forecast. But if you feel like conditions are beyond your control, call for help.”

No injuries were reported.
