BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON, UTAH – August 20, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Fire crews put out a fire that was on the trail in Big Cottonwood Canyon Wednesday night and say the likelihood is it was human caused.
According to Unified Fire Department they were alerted to a fire near the Mill Trailhead located about 6000 E. 6400 South by some hikers that were in the area. When crews arrived they were able to easily put the fire out and no structures were damaged or injuries reported.
Although the investigation is still underway, investigators believe that based on where the location of the fire, it most likely was caused by someone in the area.
