PROVO, Utah, May 18, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Sen. Mitt Romney is saying “I told you so” after Forbes magazine named his alma mater — Brigham Young University — as No. 1 on its list ranking college values.

“As a proud alum, I’ve always said BYU is the best school in the country,” Romney tweeted on Saturday.

“But now you don’t have to take my word for it. Forbes has ranked Brigham Young University #1 as America’s best value college for 2018!”

The 299-school list also ranked three other Utah universities: The University of Utah was listed as No. 39; Utah State University made the list at No. 101; and Weber State came in at No. 239

The Forbes ranking report said with skyrocketing college costs, student debt and recent cheating and admissions scandals, “Most students and their families are interested in value over prestige.”

The article also quoted a U.C. Berkeley study, which said “College graduates find better jobs, earn more money, and suffer less unemployment than high school graduates do. They also live more stable family lives, enjoy better health, and live longer.”
