OGDEN, Utah, July 6, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A fundraising account has been established for an 11-year-old girl who was struck by a truck on July 4 while at a parking lot that overlooks the valley, which is a popular spot for people to view fireworks fired over much of Weber County.

The girl was pinned between the truck and the car she was next to, and suffered broken bones and other injuries. The truck’s driver, 49-year-old Tyler Crouch, has been arrested and jailed for allegedly driving under the influence.

The account says the girl’s name is Maya, and she is the daughter of the poster’s friend. Maya attends a South Ogden elementary school where the poster serves as PTA president, she says.

“She’s a stellar student, a star athlete, and a tremendous big sister,” the poster writes. “On July 4th, during the Riverdale fireworks, a drunk driver ran into Maya and several of her cousins. Maya was trapped between two vehicles for some time, and when paramedics arrived, she was life flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital.

“She now faces a long road ahead to heal, and her family is doing everything they can to support her.”

The funds will be used to help Maya’s family cover lost wages, travel expenses, medical bills and therapy expenses, the account says.

“Her parents are focused on her recovery, but the financial burden is significant and unexpected. Your support will help ease some of that stress so they can concentrate on Maya’s healing.

“Maya’s family is deeply grateful that she is alive,” the account says. “Any help is appreciated, and they welcome prayers for her recovery.”

As in all cases, Gephardt Daily cannot guarantee funds raised will be used as stated. To view the account for yourself, click here. The account is labeled “donations guaranteed.”
