PARLEYS CANYON, July 17, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A hillside field fire briefly threatened homes just after midnight Wednesday near the mouth of Parleys Canyon.
The blaze near 2546 S. Scenic Drive was first reported at 12:26 a.m., according to Salt Lake City emergency dispatch.
Initial reports indicated some residences were being threatened before the fire was knocked down as it reached about an acre in size.
The cause of the early morning blaze is under investigation.
Salt Lake City fire crews were still on scene mopping up hot spots as of 3 a.m.
