SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 26, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake County Democratic Party has selected candidate Jenny Wilson as mayor-elect for Salt Lake County.

Wilson won with 55 percent of the vote.

Wilson, a County Council member, will be sworn in at 11 a.m. Tuesday, before the Council’s regular meeting, at the Salt Lake County Government Center, council chambers, 2001 S. State St.

Following the swearing in, the council will break for lunch, then conduct its meeting at 2 p.m., a statement from the Salt Lake County government says.

Wilson will finish the term of former Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams, who resigned after being elected to the United States House of Representatives, winning the seat formerly held by Utah Rep. Mia Love.

Wilson, 53 and the daughter of former Salt Lake City Mayor Ted Wilson, was serving her second six-year term as Salt Lake County Council member at large.

Her mayoral term will last two more years, and Wilson said she will run in the next election in hopes of retaining the job.
