K-9 cop ‘Duco’ sniffs out 15 pounds of meth during traffic stop on I-15 in Cedar City

CEDAR CITY, Utah, May 2, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Cedar City K-9 located 15 pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of more than $350,000 during a traffic stop on Interstate 15.

“Congratulations to Officer Bryan Moore and K-9 Duco,” said a Facebook post from Cedar City Police Department. “On the morning of April 25, the duo were summoned to assist the Utah Highway Patrol on a traffic stop, on I-15.”

K-9 Duco alerted to illegal narcotics in the vehicle and it was discovered that 15 pounds of methamphetamine was concealed inside.

Duco is a 6-year old Belgian Malinois, who has been working with Officer Moore the last three years, the post said.

“The hard work and dedication demonstrated by Officer Moore and K-9 Duco helped to remove these dangerous drugs from the streets, which have a street value of more than $350,000,” the post concluded. “Great job!”
