KEARNS, Utah, Dec. 14, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Fire Authority battled a blaze in a detached garage that was threatening other homes in Kearns overnight.
The fire behind a residence at 4581 W. 5540 South was first reported at approximately 10:30 p.m.
UFA Battalion Chief Todd Caldwell told Gephardt Daily crews arrived to find a fully involved fire engulfing the garage, with another garage and homes just behind.
“It was burning and starting to threaten the structures behind. We had a little trouble getting access to it,” Caldwell said.
About 20 firefighters extinguished the blaze in about half an hour.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
The exact extent of damages is not yet known.
