LINDON, Utah, Sept. 28, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A Lehi teen died Wednesday night when the car he was riding in was broadsided by a pickup truck in Lindon.
The collision occurred at about 7:45 p.m. when the car, a black Nissan, made a left turn from 700 North onto northbound Geneva Road, Lehi Police Chief Joshua Adams told Gephardt Daily. A westbound Dodge pickup truck driving straight was unable to stop or avoid the collision, and struck the Nissan on passenger side door.
The victim, Jacob Broadbent, 18, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Broadbent was wearing a seatbelt, and it does not appear that speed or alcohol played a role in the collision, a news release from the Lehi Police Department said.
The older female driver and a young passenger, of a “similar age” to Broadbent, sustained minor injuries, Adams told Gephardt Daily. The driver of the pickup truck was unhurt, Adams said.
