PROVO, Utah, Oct. 24, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Life Flight responded to Rock Canyon in east Provo Tuesday afternoon after a hiker fell 10 feet then slid an additional 40 to 50 feet in rough terrain.
Provo Fire and Rescue said in a Facebook post the man came to a stop just before he would have gone over a ledge and fallen further.
Officials responded to the Bucky Mine area at approximately 5:15 p.m. to assist the injured 24-year-old man.
Provo’s Police and Fire Mountain Rescue Team made contact with the man and Life Flight then hoisted him to a waiting ambulance for transport to Utah Valley Hospital.
The man sustained minor injuries, officials said.
