Logan City PD IDs motorcyclist who fell onto roadway, was struck, killed

LOGAN, Utah, Sept. 3, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Logan City police have identified a motorcyclist who died Monday night after losing control of his bike, and being hit by a passenger vehicle.

The man who died was 36-year-old Nico Oliva, of Hyrum.

Emergency responders were called to the scene, at 1115 S. Main St., at 9:48 p.m.

“It was reported to officers that the motorcyclist, while traveling southbound, lost control of the motorcycle and fell into a southbound lane of travel,” the LCPD statement says.

“Tragically, the motorcyclist was then struck by a vehicle following southbound. Medical aid was rendered to the motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, but he passed away at the scene.”

The investigation is ongoing, the statement says.
