MAGNA, Utah, Sept. 8, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a suspect after one person was critically injured in a stabbing in Magna late Friday morning.

Unified Police Department spokesman Lt. Brian Lohrke said officers were dispatched to the Shell Gas Station at 7210 W. 3500 South on a stabbing that had just occurred at 11:50 a.m. in the parking area near the pumps.

“When we got here, Unified Fire arrived at the same time and immediately started treating a 30-year-old male with multiple stab wounds,” Lohrke said.

The victim was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray in extremely critical condition.

“Our detectives were called to the scene, immediately roped off our crime scene area,” Lohrke said. “They are processing the scene right now, talking to witnesses.”

The only information police have about the suspect is it was a male, that he got into a maroon or purple PT Cruiser, and that he was last seen going westbound on 3500 South.

“Right now our primary objective is finding the suspect, and also processing the scene,” Lohrke said.

Police do not have a clear idea yet of what prompted the altercation, he said.

Lohrke said anyone who sees the PT Cruiser or has any information about the incident should not approach the suspect, but should call the UPD on 801-743-7000.
