MILLARD COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 12, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A magnitude 3.8 earthquake shook things up near Fillmore at about 11:34 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck about 26 miles west-southwest of Fillmore and had a depth of a little less than a half-mile.
The USGS website says a 3.8 earthquake can be “Felt quite noticeably by persons indoors, especially on upper floors of buildings. Many people do not recognize it as an earthquake. Standing motor cars may rock slightly. Vibrations similar to the passing of a truck.”
The Fillmore area has experienced four earthquakes in the past 30 days, and 67 in the past 365 days, according to earthquaketrack.com.
There were no reports overnight of any damage caused by this most recent quake.
