The Officer-Involved Critical Incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. during the traffic stop of a southbound vehicle on Interstate 15 near the Bangerter Highway Exchange.

After the officer discharged a service firearm, “the individual received immediate medical attention and was subsequently airlifted to a local hospital in critical condition. His current condition remains unknown at this time,” says a statement released by the Utah Department of Public Safety.
