SUNSET, Utah, Sept. 2, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A man is dead after he was hit by a FrontRunner train in Sunset.

The incident happened at about 10:30 a.m. Monday Gavin Gustafson, Utah Transit Authority spokesman, told Gephardt Daily.

“There’s not a lot of details at this point, other than the report from the operator is that somebody jumped in front of the train, a pedestrian, and it’s a fatal accident,” he said. “We know it’s a male.

“Police are on scene and there’s going to be major, major delays southbound on Front Runner, but yeah, at this point, that’s all we know,” Gustafson said at about noon.

Gustafson said he does not know if the man jumped on purpose.
