SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 15, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police say a man crossing 700 East near 2700 West has died after being hit by a passing motorist Wednesday night.

Investigators believe the man – who is thought to be in his 50s  – was walking against the light when he was struck by a woman driving a passenger vehicle around 9 p.m.

The victim – whose name has yet to be released – was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, where he died a short while later.

Police say impairment does not appear to be an issue in the case, but their investigation is ongoing.
