SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 7, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Salt Lake City are investigating a Tuesday afternoon shooting that left one man injured.
A call came to dispatch at 3:11 p.m., and officers responded to an apartment in the area of 750 N. 900 West, in the Rose Park neighborhood. Police found a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg.
“Officers provided life-saving aid on scene until Salt Lake City Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance arrived,” the SLCPD statement says. “Paramedics took the man to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“During their investigation, officers found a 16-year-old female on scene and arrested her. At the time of the arrest, officers also found a loaded firearm.”
A preliminary investigation suggests the incident was related to domestic violence, the statement says.
“As of this writing, no charges have been filed. Detectives have not concluded their investigation to determine whether the 16-year-old female will be booked into a juvenile detention center.”
