SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 10, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A 32-year-old man initially reported to have suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a truck Wednesday afternoon on State Street near 1800 South is now expected to survive, according to an update by SLCPD.

Detectives with the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to investigate the accident, reported at 3:43 p.m. The man was found on the roadway, a statement from the SLCPD says.

“The Salt Lake City Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance arrived on the scene and took the man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries,” it says. “The driver of the truck is cooperating with the investigation.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives and officers believe the man was crossing the road against traffic when the driver of the truck struck him.”
