DAVIS COUNTY, UTAH – August 31, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Troopers have identified the man killed on I-15 near 2600 S. in Davis County Monday afternoon after he rear-ended a truck stopped in the HOV lane.
Sgt. Jimmy Banks with Utah Highway Patrol said they received the call around 10:15 a.m. of an accident involving a truck and a motorcycle in the southbound travel lanes of I-15.
Upon further investigation they found the pick-up truck was travelling southbound in the HOV lane when it slowed or stopped for an unknown reason. A motorcycle that was travelling behind, rear-ended the truck.
Life Flight was called but the driver, identified as 39-year old Robert C. Jones, of Bountiful, was already deceased.
The driver of the pick-up did not sustain injuries.
The circumstances of the accident are still under investigation and authorities are not saying who is at fault at this time.
