TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, May 2, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A motorcyclist was critically injured Tuesday in a crash just after 8 p.m. involving two trucks connected by a tow strap at a major Taylorsville intersection.
The crash occurred near 5400 South and 3600 West, according to Taylorsville Police Lt. Fowler.
Preliminary information gathered from witnesses indicates two trucks were traveling eastbound on 5400 South and turning north onto 3600 West. One truck was towing the other with a tow strap.
A motorcyclist, described as a man in his mid-20s, was traveling westbound when he impacted the tow strap between the two trucks, Fowler said.
The collision caused the rider to crash and suffer severe injuries, including at least one serious leg injury.
Witnesses at the scene attempted to apply a tourniquet before emergency medical personnel arrived.
The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital in “very critical condition” but was stabilized by medical personnel, Fowler said.
The intersection remained closed Tuesday night as the Taylorsville Police major accident investigation team processed the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
