Motorcyclist fatally injured in St. George crash

ST.GEORGE, Utah, Aug. 2, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police were warning people away from the site of a fatal crash Friday evening.

*At approximately 5:10 p.m.on August 2, 2024 our dispatch center received a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle,” the St. George Police Department said online Friday.

“The motorcycle was southbound on 2450 E, reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a vehicle making a left turn onto 2450 E.

“The 19-year-old driver of the motorcycle has died from his injuries, and the driver of the vehicle is injured.

“This crash is under investigation. Our sincere condolences to everyone affected by this tragedy.”

As of 6:30 p.m., the department advised that 2450 East is closed from 80 N. to 40 S. Access to 2450 E. is closed at 40 N.

The department’s Accident Reconstruction Team is on scene investigating. “Please avoid the area.”
