SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, July 29, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — A 31-year-old man died Tuesday evening following a collision between his motorcycle and an SUV on Redwood Road, according to South Jordan Police.

Sgt. Shaun Becker told Gephardt Daily the crash occurred just before 6 p.m. near the intersection of Redwood Road and South Jordan Parkway. The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Redwood when an SUV turned left into a Smith’s parking lot, crossing into the motorcycle’s path.

“The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead,” Becker said. “There were civilians on scene who did provide aid before emergency responders arrived.”

The driver of the SUV, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not injured and is cooperating with investigators. Police said there are no initial signs of impairment, though the incident remains under investigation.

“We do believe that speed was a factor in this accident,” Becker said.

The identity of the motorcyclist has yet to be released.

Gephardt Daily will update this story as more information becomes available.

This marks the second fatal motorcycle crash in South Jordan in recent months, and the city’s sixth traffic fatality so far this year.
