Murray police offer $5K reward for helpful info 2015 cold case killing

MURRAY, Utah, Dec. 14, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — With possible suspects identified, police have posted a $5,000 reward for information that helps tie up a 9-year-old murder investigation.

“Police offer reward in 2015 homicide cold case” reads the Murray City Police Department’s announcement of the $5,000, asking that anyone with information contact Detective Gruendell.

Murder victim Fred Curtis Mustain was found shot multiple times in the back at a construction site at 527 E. Vine St. on Sept. 5, 2015 at 9:22 p.m., according to the news release.

“Investigators have followed multiple leads and have been able to narrow their search and identify possible suspects in this case.

“At this time investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in providing information that would help substantiate the evidence in this case and lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of person(s) involved.”
