SALT LAKE COUNTY, May 19, 2016 (Gepahrdt Daily) — Rocky Mountain Power says electricity has been restored, but nearly 39,000 Rocky Mountain Power customers were without electricity late Thursday night in the Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Magna and Tooele areas.
According to the Rocky Mountain Power website, approximately 37,572 customers lost power in Salt Lake City, West Valley City and Magna.
In the Tooele area, an estimated 1,036 customers lost power. Rocky Mountain Power expected it to be restored by 1:30 a.m. Friday.
The cause of the power loss was under investigations, but Thursday night’s high winds and storms may have been a factor.
