WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, April 22, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Iconic singer-songwriter Neil Young and Crazy Horse announced Monday that a Utah stop will wrap the current Love Earth tour.
Young, 78, and Crazy Horse will end the tour on July 29 with a stop at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheater, formerly USANA Amphitheater, in West Valley City. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Pacific Time Tuesday (April 23) through Neil Young Archives. General ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. Friday through Live Nation.
The gig announcement says, “At time of purchase, fans can opt in to receive a physical CD of the Neil Young + Crazy Horse new album FU##IN’ UP included with their tickets for no additional cost.”
“‘FU##IN’ UP’ reveals Neil Young + Crazy Horse in all their ragged glory, playing songs from their long relationship,” the Live Nation announcement says. “Neil and The Horse have played together for over 50 years and the performance of these familiar songs, recorded in 2023, is a true highlight.”
As Young said, “In the spirit it’s offered…made this for the Horse lovers. I can’t stop it. The horse is runnin.’ What a ride we have. I don’t want to mess with the vibe. I am so happy to have this to share.”
“FU##IN’ UP“ contains nine songs on two LPs. The album will be released in a limited edition color vinyl pressing on Record Store Day April 20 with a wider, all format release starting April 26,” the announcement says. “For further details go to NYA. Details about this release will be announced shortly.”
Music reviewers have described Young’s voice as “whiny” and “nasal,” but undeniably authentic and endearingly emotional.
And just a heads up: Eight of the tour’s remaining 26 stops already are sold out.
In a 2021 article, a “Rolling Stone” critic ranked Young’s 100 greatest songs. The writer ranked “Powderfinger,” “Ambulance Blues” and “Heart of Gold” at numbers 1 through 3. Sample them below, or check out the full Neil Young Channel on Youtube.
